Im by no means a "sucessful daytader" but I use

Stockcharts
Stockhouse
Barchart
and a few other extremly basic items......

I like alphatrade's L2's better and I get nice intraday charting with alphatrade as well, right off my L2's.

First....go to chart school at : http://stockcharts.com/education/

every night go here........

look at all the 52 week lows, bullish 50/200 cross overs, and hammer patterns.

Load all intersting charts into your streamer...the next day watch for movement....to zero in on a wiggler, pull up l2 and watch for bid stacking etc.....

Ameritrades advanced analyser is another helpful tool....

Very simple but I have found it to be quite effective.......

Actually I dont like microcaptrade (dog don't bite) its not my style of trading.

I use no intraday charts. Other than stockcharts.

I have developed swing charts that I use and I plot support resistance.

Then I make entries and exits from there. I have a lot of other stuff going on during the day.

So I'm not a big hit in the chat room with a new runner every 30 minutes. I do find my runners though :) It takes all kinds. Find what your good at and develop outward.

thats an awesome tool as a screener.

not for pennies though. Low dollar stocks.


I told you what i dont use. What I do use are screeners.

I screen stocks, in a million different ways. I then DD the ones i like, plot lines and buy. No fancy stuff for me.:D

i have advanced analyser, but i used it for 30sec till i figured out it had basically no BBs and pinkys.

You need level 2...most online brokerages offer it.

Because you could also look at the "last sale" and L2s to show you how much went at what price

hello all!! thanks for all the wonderful information in so many different aspects of stock trading. I check this blog everyday and I'm still going through great information that has been posted for awhile. It's really a wonderful group!! Glad to be part of it. I'm sure I will make contribution someday, still learning for now.

my questions: I have ameritrade and haven't sold any stocks to see if the sale money is immediately available or available the next day. When I sell will it take 3 days for the stock money to settle? My cousin has etrade and says when she sells it takes 3 day cause it's "settled money"??

does ameritrade do that? I would like for her to get on ameritrade so we can be on the same page. thanks in advance for your replies.

CoolTrade robotic traders are fully robotic that you turn on and leave the house as they trade 100% unattended. I know it sounds like a lot, but it is a lot and the only system I have ever found that actually picks the stocks, opens positions, add to positions, and closes positions based on your settings. Requires no programming.
