I've noticed a lot of new posters on this board. To the legitimate traders, welcome!
I have noticed that some people, in addition to being new posters, are also new to trading, so let me give you a word of caution: some posters have been trying to use this board as a place to pump their stocks. I'm not a nazi, so I'm not about to censor those I only have vague suspicions about (cough cough Bob Frey), but here are some classic signs to watch out for as you troll the boards for some picks.
1) If you see a post that has numerous people posting that have only been members for a short period of time and/or very few posts
2) Posts that seem to be written a little too profesionally.
3) Posts that make exaggerated claims of future PPS's
4) Posts that have this sort of interchange
Person 1) Hey have you heard about (Stock X)
Person 2) No, it looks interesting, tell me more
Person 1) Some line of horsesh!t about (Stock X)
Person 2) Wow looks great, I bought a million shares
5) Posts that say 'rumor of news next week'
There's more, but that's what comes to mind right now.
Most importantly, your best defense to pumping- do your own DD (due dilligence) and don't believe ANYTHING people post. Ultimately it's up to you to do the work...
