mPhase Technologies Announces Sourcing Agreement with LEA for Next-Generation DSL Splitter Technology

mPhase to Be Exclusive Sales and Distribution Channel for Specific Customized ANSI-Compliant Product Line

LITTLE FALLS, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 21, 2006--mPhase Technologies, (OTCBB:XDSL - News), a pioneer in the delivery of video over fixed broadband networks and broadband components, today announced an agreement to source its next generation DSL splitter technology from LEA S.A.S., a leading European-based supplier of components and subsystems to telecommunications equipment and service providers.

The original manufacturing agreement will result in mPhase-branded next-generation DSL splitters that conform to the North American ANSI standards.

"LEA is a key supplier to some of Europe's leading telecom vendors and carriers," said Ronald A. Durando, mPhase chief executive. "Its leadership in broadband components convinced us it made economic sense to adapt their technology to meet the needs of our North American customer base rather than design a new generation DSL splitter line from the ground up."

As part of the agreement, mPhase is adding LEA's ActiveWire(TM) 4-Port Board to its catalog of ANSI-compliant digital subscriber line (DSL) splitters. This new generation circuitry is the first to integrate standard analog .5 micron CMOS ASICs with conventional xDSL analog filters, yielding up to a three-fold decrease in size for the same performance. mPhase will display the product at the TelecomNEXT exhibition, Booth 1871, being held in Las Vegas, Nev. March 21-22.

"ActiveWire represents a manifestation of Moore's Law as applied to signal splitters," said Eric Berthaud, LEA's CEO. "This first integration of an analog xDSL filter (ADSL/ADSL2+/VDSL2) in silicon translates into significant operational savings with more efficient use of available remote terminal and central office space."
